Yonderlust Cafe is OPEN!
Durham locals Sonya and Kit Linton opened Yonderlust Cafe for business on Friday, the next phase of their multi-use building project in Durham’s Brightleaf Square. The cafe offers a high-end coffee experience with Joe Van Gogh coffee and Strong Arm Bakery products. They also plan to introduce a food menu with salads, paninis, fresh juices and smoothies in the coming weeks.
The cafe space at Yonderlust occupies the north bay of the original building and the couple plans an outdoor gear and clothing store for the remainder of the space this spring. Restored by the couple over the last two years, this building has held a number of restaurants since 1930; most recently Another Thyme which many locals will remember, going all the way back to Mayola’s Chili House that served up good eats to the workers of the local tobacco warehouses in the 1950’s.
“The Brightleaf area is seeing a significant renewal with new businesses opening left and right. We’re so excited to be part of that energy in Durham. At Yonderlust Cafe, our mission is promote health and well-being through natural experiences and to help people connect to the incredible world around them. We believe that healthy, tasty food is the foundation for our everyday adventure.”, said proprietor Sonya Linton.
